Pergolas:

PergolaA Pergola can either stand alone on the ground or we can install one over your deck.  Enjoy the beauty of the materials, or hang flowers and plants from it.  Pergolas are great for controlling shade and can even provide some shelter from the weather.

Installation

Concrete Footings:

In Minnesota, building code requires that we dig our footings at least 42" deep.  At Great Exteriors, we make sure to exceed that rule by digging at least 48" into the ground.

Framing:

Our experienced estimators will design a deck that will support you, your family, and your friends.  This is accomplished by using the proper framing materials to provide the strength that you need your deck to have.

Decking:

If you want your deck to look like all of your neighbors, we'd be happy to install your deck boards with standard screws.  However, if you want it to stand out and look smooth, let us use a hidden fastener system so we can eliminate the screw holes.

Railings:

Ever so important in deck construction, our railings are all built for safety and durability.  You can be sure that children won't be able to get between the spindles and that they'll always have a railing they can grasp when going down the stairs.

Stairs:

In all of our decades of experience, we've seen some scary looking and dangerous staircases.  We know that it's worth it to use sturdy framing, proper decking and railings, and treads that are wide enough and short enough to prevent any accidents from happening.

Last-Deck

Last-Deck Logo Last-Deck aluminum decking will be the last deck you ever install.  Series 200 Watertight (S200) decking allows you to have dry storage or a 3 season porch below your deck!  Made from aircraft quality aluminum, Last-Deck decking will not warp, split, crack, mold or mildew.  Their Last-Rail aluminum railing systems are built using the same standards.

Composite

Composite decking and railings by Trex, Timbertech and others is a maintenance free alternative to wood.  It resists mold, termites and erosion.  Check out the many different colors and styles!

Cedar

Cedar is the classic choice for exterior decking, railings and trim.  It's available in different grades including Knotty and Clear.  Decking comes in 5/4 x 6 or 2 x 6.  We can combine Cedar railings with Aluminum Spindles for a new age look.
